Where it all started

Our first hostel opened in Hanoi back in 2015 - and it's where the Ha Giang Loop tours were born. We wanted something different from the typical tours everyone else was offering. The rest is history.

We live and breathe everything we do at Flipside. We're based right here in Ha Giang, we know everyone we deal with personally, and we love spending time with our guests hearing about their experiences.

Riding and exploring these mountains isn't just what we do, it's who we are. We're always out there ourselves, hunting down new roads, hidden waterfalls and the viewpoints most tours never bother to find.

Meet Linh and Tom

Between them, Linh and Tom have Vietnam covered. Linh is a hospitality and tourism specialist who's run some of the country's biggest hostels, while Tom is a Kiwi who's called Vietnam home for nearly 20 years and knows the north like the back of his hand. As the original creators of the Ha Giang Loop, they still spend a huge amount of time out on the road themselves - scouting new routes, fresh homestays and hidden sights most tours never reach. Tom's on a dirtbike any chance he gets, and still leads most of the Enduro tours himself. It's their favourite place on earth, and it shows in every trip they run.

Our team is made up of local legends who live and breathe the Ha Giang Loop. More than guides, they’re storytellers, mechanics, road warriors, and friends. Passionate, professional, and proudly rooted in the region, they’re the soul of Flipside.
